What Does this blood Test Result Mean?

Hello, my sister has had blood tests done and the following was found. Haemaglobin 107, HCT 33, WCC 3.4, Neutrophils 1.6, Lymphocytes 1.3 and Platelets 132 which is elevated from 97 from last FBC. Please can you give us an indication as to what sort of disorders we would expect to be exploring next. Thank you so kindly, we are very worried.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
You blood report shows that the hemoglobin and hematocrit levels are low.
Low hemoglobin and hematocrit level is called anemia.
A peripheral blood smear examination should be done to know the type of anemia.
The white blood cell count is low. Low white blood cell count can occur in number of conditions like bone marrow suppression due to infection especially viral infection.
The platelet count has arisen from 97 to 132 however, the platelet count is still low.
The most probable cause of low platelets and low white blood cells is viral infection.
Viral infections are self limiting and the blood levels come back to normal as the viral infection recovers.
You can get the blood counts repeated after a couple of days to recheck the values.
If the counts do not come back to normal then some other cause has to be found for low counts.
The anemia can be diagnosed after performing peripheral blood smear examination and then it can be managed.

Thanks and take care
